Distinguished Guests at RYI
On January 28, Dasho Dean Sangay Dorjee from the Jigme Singye Wangchuk School of Law (JSW) and Meghan W.T. Nalbo, The Asia Foundation’s country representative in Nepal, paid a visit to RYI, to discuss the educational vision and mission at JSW and RYI. They discussed areas of convergence, suggesting that the study of law and justice has to be built on compassion, ethics, clear thinking, and an understanding of karma.
Dean Sangay Dorjee was appointed as the founding Dean and the Chief Executive Officer of the Law School in 2016 and has also worked as the Project Director for the establishment of the Law School since 2013.Dean Sangay has been graciously conferred the Kabney (White Scarf) and Patang (Sword) by the Fifth King of Bhutan.
Meghan W.T. Nalbo brings nearly two decades of experience in governance and development in Asia. Prior to joining the Asia Foundation, Meghan was a foreign service officer with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) where she last served as director of the Democracy and Governance office at USAID in Nepal.
