Bachelor of Arts Scholarship

  • The Bachelor of Arts Scholarship was established to support students who would otherwise be unable to pursue their studies on a full-time basis. The scholarship provides a partial or full tuition fee reduction for up to 30 credits per academic year (or 15 credits a semester).   
  • The scholarship is awarded for one academic year (fall & spring semester), with the possibility for recipients to reapply in subsequent academic years, subject to eligibility and availability. 

A limited number of scholarships are available each year.  

Eligibility: Who can apply? 

To apply for Bachelor of Arts Scholarship, one must: 

  • Be an international (non-SAARC) student enrolled in the BA program (in any year) or have submitted an application for BA program admission.  
  • Demonstrate financial need that would otherwise prevent full-time enrollment. 
  • Must take full-time study, 15 credits (for-credit) in each semester for which one receives the scholarship.   
  • Bachelor of Arts Scholarship students must study on campus. 

Priority is given to applicants who are from challenging socio-economic or family backgrounds, who have had to overcome significant obstacles to pursue their studies, who are first-generation university students and who have interest in community engagement and service to others.

Timing and Award Decisions

For the academic year 2026/27 applications from eligible students are accepted now and remain open until all available funds are disbursed. RYI will begin considering awards on March 1, and priority will be given to applications received by that date.  

Award decisions for this initial round will be communicated by March 30. Applications received after March 1 will be considered on a rolling basis only if funds remain after the initial round. Award decisions for these late applications will be communicated after March 30.  

For the academic year 2027/28 applications will open on November 1.
