In reading from a spectrum of literary genres such as that found in poetry, dramatic literature, epics, and philosophical discourse, students gain familiarity with the variety of style and grammar used in written Sanskrit.Through in-depth analysis of the grammatical systems employed in this literature, the courses increasingly consolidate the understanding of Sanskrit grammar gained in Sanskrit I and II.

SLAN 102: Sanskrit II or the previous course in the series or permission of the instructor is required.
