The Center for Buddhist Studies at Kathmandu University in Boudhanath, Nepal is the perfect environment to study the Buddha’s teachings in the most authentic tradition of Tibetan Buddhism. The atmosphere of the monastic community brings a vital spirit to the practice of studying, reflecting, and applying the teachings in our direct daily experience. In this sense it makes learning these precious teachings deeply meaningful, being able to witness how the teachings are put into practice at Ka-Nying Shedrub Ling Monastery. There is a spirit of inquiry and vigilance among the students in taking the teachings from our classes to heart, making it a personal matter in resolving any misunderstandings and developing greater clarity into the profound meaning within the texts that are taught by the professors, lopons, and khenpos.
