CLAN 201: Buddhist Literary Chinese III

This course continues with the study of translated Chinese Buddhist texts, and introduces the study of indigenous Chinese Buddhist texts. Students further develop knowledge of contextual interpretation and grammar and improve their ability to read texts on a variety of topics from different time periods. Students are expected to contribute actively to the class by means of presentations of their translations and discussions of homework assignments. Assessments include homework assignments, quizzes, exams, evaluation of class participation, and translations.
